Tampa Bay Shoots is the result of decades of experience in event planning and executing group photography events with professional models and photographers.
What was to become Tampa Bay Shoots started with a group modeling photography event on June 10, 1994, with the founding of photography and design company Aurora PhotoArts in the Tampa Bay area, the event using event planning experience going back to 1988.
More ambitious, frequent group modeling photography events began in 1998, and by 2002, next generation modeling photography events began, which ran frequently for several years. What was learned from these early events led to successful Espy model testing group photography events starting in 2003, which were directly used by Aurora PhotoArts as a service, and which became a major service for Aurora PhotoArts in 2017, further enhanced by Tampa Bay Shoots formats, protocols, technology, workflow processes, and support infrastructure, all of which Aurora PhotoArts invested in during our development process.
We began researching what else was going on in the market in 2002, as we developed our stand-alone photography event business. This was delayed, however, because business by Aurora PhotoArts and its projects displace those plans. Despite this, we continued with our frequent photography events until 2007, after which the events continued at a slower pace because of the economy.
Our first attempt at a dedicated photography event business came about with Tampa Shootouts in 2011. This quickly became an official research and development program by 2012, with an additional three years of intensive development put into what was to come. Many of the brands and formats developed for Tampa Shootouts were enhanced and either used or ported to Tampa Bay Shoots.
Tampa Bay Shoots was the result, and we began operations in 2015, with a full rollout of our exclusive line of photography events, modeling photography events, and photography workshops in 2018.
Here at Tampa Bay Shoots, we are very serious about maintaining the professional standard for events of the type which we offer, as we set the standard and lead the market. We worked very hard to ensure that our events were of the highest possible quality at the best value in price. We also worked very hard to ensure that our models and industry contributors were paid well for their assistance while working in a safe, professional environment which was professionally relevant and compatible with their careers, while minimizing risks and potential conflicts. As a result, our professional models, instructors, and other professional contributors are among the very best, which is an added value and benefit to those whom invest in the photography event services and workshops which we offer.
Tampa Bay Shoots is fully supported by Aurora PhotoArts, the top photography and design company which led to our creation, with which we have a long and intertwined history, and with which we are directly affiliated with. Aurora PhotoArts put a lot of resources into the development of our company, which led to event specifications which far exceed that of other photography event companies, as well as what we would have developed on our own, because they needed our formats, technology, and support infrastructure for their ShimmerWorks research and development program and the Mirage experimental photography events which their ongoing ShimmerWorks program needed for the testing of what came out of that program.
At this time, and to the best of our knowledge, Aurora PhotoArts is the only photography company in the world with a dedicated and comprehensive research and development program, and we expect some revolutionary services and advancements to come out of their program as they work toward, literally, becoming one of the best photography and design companies in the world.
